She is professor of French language at Virginia Commonwealth University; president of the Africa Business and Entrepreneurship Research Society; ex-president of the Sister Cities Commission for the twin cities of Richmond VA and Segou who directed the Gates/VCU HIV project in Ségou, Mali.
